When researching certain relatives, name changes can occur which may create challenges. Names may change due to immigration i.e. Ellis Island or through marriage or divorce. Names may also be altered due to spelling errors.
I encountered this problem when searching for documentation of a marriage that I knew occurred in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, in 1924. The last name of the male involved was Kaminska. After much searching, I found that the marriage license was filed until Caminska, even though the name on the license was spelled Kaminska.
